Hilary Rowe

Performer at iO West

Hilary was born and bred in Los Angeles. Her first audition ended in tears and ice cream. She was 5. She gave up her dream of being on “Little House on the Prairie” and was just a normal kid until she fell into improvising while at Stanford University, where she was a founding member of the Stanford Improvisors. In Northern California and Colorado, she created long form works of genius with the Fire Escape Improv Theatre Company and the After Hours Improvisational Theatre Company.

Back in L.A., Hilary joined a sketch comedy/a cappella/improv group called The But Franklies and performed at venues like the Comedy Store on Sunset Boulevard. Since 1999, she has been a member of IOWest Harold teams like Butternuts, Squadron, and Tiny Hostages, as well as musical/variety shows such as Bitch Planet, Musicale, and of course, Opening Night: The Improvised Musical! In her spare time, which she has very little of because she has two little boys and a swell husband, Hilary teaches corporate improv and team building workshops. Sometimes she still wears a gingham prairie dress. But never to auditions.
